Welcome to the December BNF eNewsletter.
Three new drug monographs have been added to the BNF in the last month, daunorubicin with cytarabine, erenumab, and rucaparib. One new preparation was added to the BNFC in the last month, Verkazia® [ciclosporin] eye drops.

We have also included dose changes for amoxicillin, azithromycin, ceftriaxone, and doxycycline for Lyme disease, and for dabigatran etexilate, gabapentin, influenza vaccine, roflumilast, and tapentadol. We have included updated guidance on the management of Lyme disease and rheumatoid arthritis. You will also find NICE technology appraisals for cabozantinib, dabrafenib with trametinib, eltrombopag, romiplostim, and tofacitinib.

Dabrafenib with trametinib for adjuvant treatment of resected BRAF V600 mutation-positive melanoma
Eltrombopag for treating chronic immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenic purpura
Romiplostim for the treatment of chronic immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenic purpura
Tofacitinib for treating active psoriatic arthritis after inadequate response to DMARDs

Each year NICE provides print copies of the BNF and BNFC to prescribers working in the NHS and other organisations that provide NHS-commissioned care in England. Print versions of BNF 76 and BNFC 2018-2019 are to be distributed throughout October and November.
