I Welcome
Welcome to the October BNF eNewsletter.
Four new drug monographs have been added to the BNF in the last month including, bictegravir with emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide, dinutuximab beta, and pentosan polysulfate sodium, and two new drug monographs have been added to the BNFC in the last month, denosumab and dinutuximab beta.

Side-effects and their further information sections have been updated and reviewed against the current product literature and terms used to define these have been standardised across all drug monographs in both BNF and BNFC. We have also included dose changes for golimumab and rufinamide, and have updated guidance on the management of heavy menstrual bleeding and otitis media. We have included MHRA advice on nusinersen (Spinraza®) reports of communicating hydrocephalus not related to meningitis or bleeding. You will also find NICE technology appraisals for alectinib for untreated ALK-positive advanced non-small-cell lung cancer, dinutuximab beta for treating neuroblastoma, and ixekizumab for treating active psoriatic arthritis after inadequate response to DMARDs.

See our latest case study on valproate and the Pregnancy Prevention Programme.
Kind regards,
BNF Team
