Homeopathic Prescribing Pocket Companion
Kayne, Steven B; Kayne, Lee
First edition
Steven B Kayne and Lee R Kayne
This concise pocket book offers all the basic information that a pharmacist will ever need regarding homeopathic remedies.
It provides a general introduction on homeopathy so that pharmacists can respond to questions such as "what is it?" and "how does it work?". There is also an outline of remedy types, potencies and how they work, information regarding what homeopathy can and cannot be used for, different approaches to prescribing such as first aid, and case study examples.
The main bulk of the content is on specific indications, where the text is split into conditions that homeopathy is most used for and at the end of each section there is a mini monograph/materia medica which shows the most widely used remedies for that particular condition. This allows the pharmacist to either look up a particular remedy and its uses, or look up a specific condition/symptom and its remedy.
For the busy pharmacist who wants a useful hands-on pocket guide to homeopathy, this is the perfect book.

'[The authors] have set out to provide practical assistance to their colleagues wishing to advise on homeopathy. I believe they have achieved this goal admirably and this small pocket companion would be an extremely valuable tool for pharmacists. The pocket companion size and nature of this book also means it can be easily referred to during the course of a busy practice.'
