Your proposal should consist of the following information. We will use this to evaluate your book's suitability for
publication, so please supply as much detail as possible. Please send your proposal to the Senior Commissioning Editor
(christina.debono@rpsgb.org).
- Tentative title
- Author/editor details
Please supply names and full contact details of all authors, and indicate the principal or corresponding author. If it is an
edited work, please supply details of the editor/s and contributors.
- Description of project, rationale and target audience
Please summarise the aims and scope of the book and why you think it is needed. You should include details of the intended
audience, primary and secondary readership of your book, and how the content will meet their needs.
- Proposed content
Please supply a list of chapter titles and a brief outline of the content of each chapter. Also indicate if there are any
special features such as case studies or self-assessment questions to be included.
- Sample chapter
We ideally require at least one representative sample chapter.
- Estimated length
Estimate the total length of the manuscript in number of words. If illustrations are to be included, we need to know how many,
if they will be line drawings and/or photographs, and whether colour or black and white illustrations are required.
- Proposed date for completion of the manuscript
Please estimate the date you will be able to deliver your completed manuscript to us - we usually recommend 6-8 months of
writing time.
- Competing books
Include details of the main competitors to your title (or similar titles if there is no direct competition), and what
features distinguish your book from any competitors.
- Curriculum vitae
It would be helpful to supply a brief CV and some indication of any previous writing experience (unless you have already
written for Pharmaceutical Press).
