Q. I can't find the publication I want?
A. Have you tried using the advanced search facility? You can search for a publication using the catgory search as well as new, just published and forthcoming titles. If you cannot locate what you want this way, try a keyword search instead. If all that fails then please contact us.

Q. The Pharmaceutical Press website doesn't look right on my computer.
A. First of all check that your default font size is not set too large, as this may upset the proportions of the page. Viewing this site in different internet browsers may result in the website looking different.
We recommend that you view this site using:
  • Internet Explorer 6 or above, you can upgrade to a more recent version here
  • Firefox, you can download this browser here here
  • Opera, you can download this browser here here
  • Safari, for your Mac, you can download this browser here here
  • .
Q. I cannot view any of the PDF files.
A. In order to view PDF files, Acrobat Reader should be installed on your computer. You can download the latest version by clicking here.

Q. I'm interested in subscribing to a journal. Is it possible to view a free sample copy or have a free trial?
A. Online sample copies are available for all of our learned journals. Non-subscribing institutions and individuals are also eligible for a two month free trial of the online edition. For print sample copies, please send your request to Customer Services, specifying the journal that you are interested in.

Q. I think I am missing an issue for a journal for which I have a subscription.
A. Please send your claim request to Customer Services, including as many relevant details as you can to speed up the enquiry. Claims need to be made within four months of publication. Please ensure that we have your correct delivery address for future issues.

Q. I want to subscribe to a journal but it is half way through the year – what will happen?
A. The Pharmaceutical Journal, and Clinical Pharmacist operate on an anytime start basis. This means that you will start receiving issues straight away after your subscription has been processed (please be aware that labels are run in advance so it can take two weeks after your order is placed before the first issue is sent). You will then receive all issues for the following 12 months. A renewal notice will be sent at the end of your subscription period.

All other journals only offer subscriptions on a calendar year basis i.e. the subscription period begins in January of each year. If you subscribe at any point after the first issue has been published we will send you the back issues from that calendar (volume) year. You will then continue to receive journal issues as they are published. A renewal notice will be sent towards the end of the calendar year.,

All other journals are run on a calendar year basis i.e. – all of 2008 or all of 2009. If you subscribe at any point after the first issue is published, you will receive back issues to the date you subscribe; you will then continue to receive the journal as it is published for the rest of the year. You will be invited to renew for the following year's issues during the Autumn.

Q. Is it possible to buy a single journal issue or article?
A. Yes, single print issues are available for purchase. Individual articles may also be purchased by non-subscribers on a pay-per-view basis.

Q. Do you offer multi-site/global licences for journals?
A. Yes, customised prices are available on application. Please contact the Journals Sales Manager for a quotation.

Q. I have a personal subscription to a journal – can I access the online edition?
A. Individual subscriptions are to the print edition only. You can browse or search article abstracts online for free and you may purchase individual articles on a pay-per-view basis.

Q. I think my institution has a subscription to a journal - how do I get access to the full text of articles?
A. If your institution has a subscription and you are accessing the journal from an institutional computer, your IP address should be recognised and the appropriate access enabled automatically. If you believe that your institution has a subscription but you are unable to access the full text, please contact the person that manages your institution's subscriptions.
